 DALYAN - CAUNOS
With the start of tourism development in recent years and the threat of the danger to the environment led to the area being declared by the state as a special protection district in 1998.
This measure helped to protect the region from over development. The village of Dalyan, without a change in its natural beauty for many years, is today still very far from the threat of excessive development. Due to this Dalyan has retained its charm and tradtion that reflects in the property and town itself, the spectacular Kauno's ruines can still be seen in the mountain sides.
 Dalyan is now a total holiday destination with various hotels, pensions and a wide choice of restaurants in the centre or at the entrance to the village.
Dalyan cater's for all tastes with somthing to offer everyone, and plenty to fill your days, whether you prefer a relaxing boat trip or a busy day shopping, the town has it all.
Dalyan got its name from the natural channels and the Dalyan fishing style has been carried out on these channels for centuries. In the main, mullet is caught in these channels and sold to restaurants in the district. Dalyan has many market stalls and shops selling fresh produce and traditional items, at very reasonable prices.
 Boat trips run regularly along the winding river, offering lovely views over ruines, mountains and the surrounding coutryside. A short boat trip takes you to the beautiful nearby Itzuzu beach, where you can see the famous Carretta turtles.
The town hosts many activities such as watersports, boat trips, snorkling, diving and water rafting.
